Abstract
Abstract
Zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO-NPs) have gained significant interest in the medical, agricultural, and food industries as a means of killing or reducing the activity of microorganisms. This research generated zinc nanoparticles utilizing orange fruit peel extract as a stabilizing and reducing agent. Eco-friendly synthesis presents a cost-efficient and sustainable option compared to traditional chemical methods. The MTT assay demonstrated notable cell-killing effects on PC3 prostate cancer cell lines. Zn NPs producing nanoparticles were examined by FT-IR, UV-visible, EDX, and FESEM. Zn NPS demonstrates an inhibitory effect on Staphylococcus aureus with a zone of 18 mm at a concentration of 0.1 ppm, while orange fruit peel shows an inhibition of 14 mm. E. coli inhibition with 0.1 ppm is 21 mm for Zn NPS and 19 mm for orange citrus peel. Zinc nanoparticles demonstrated an inhibitory effect on PC3 cells, showing a measurement of 7.0563 after 24 hours and 4.8060 after 48 hours.
