تُعد القواميس أدوات تعليمية فعالة تساعد المتعلمين على فهم معاني الكلمات، واستخداماتها، ونطقها الصحيح، واشتقاقاتها. فهي توسّع من الحصيلة اللغوية، وتعزز مهارات القراءة والكتابة والاستماع. كما تساعد القواميس ثنائية اللغة (مثل الإنجليزية-العربية) المتعلمين في المراحل الأولى، بينما تعزز القواميس أحادية اللغة من التفكير باللغة الإنجليزية في المستويات المتقدمة. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، تسهم القواميس الإلكترونية والتطبيقات الذكية في توفير الوصول السريع إلى المعاني والأمثلة والنطق، مما يزيد من فعالية التعلم الذاتي.
