Pyroxyredocsin is the latest and most recent enzyme discovered according to scientific publications related to this very important enzyme. It was thought to be just a protein that had simple bioactivity. The enzyme's clinical and biological importance increased after it was discovered that it alone occupies 1% of the cell's proteins and is responsible for removing and breaking down 99% of cytoplasmic peroxides and 90% of mitochondrial peroxides in the organisms while the rest of the enzymes are involved in removing the remaining amount of peroxides.
