Odontogenic cysts and tumors often form structures that resemble normal odontogenesis. It is well known that amyloid is produced by calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumor; however it is debatable to whether it is also formed in other odontogenic lesions. This study aims to detect the presence of amyloid in different odontogenic cysts and tumors and its relation to amelogenin and odontogenic ameloblast-associated protein, which are matrix proteins secreted during enamel formation.
