Electrochemotherapy (ECT) is a combination therapy that uses low-power electric fields to increase the permeability of tumor cells to chemotherapeutic drugs. This allows the drugs to reach and kill a greater number of cancer cells. ECT is a promising new treatment for a variety of cancers, including skin cancer, head and neck cancer, and bladder cancer.
The goal of the lecture "Electrochemotherapy" is to provide medical teaching staff with the information they need to understand the mechanism of action of ECT, the clinical trials that have been conducted, and the potential benefits and risks of this treatment. The target audience for the lecture is medical teaching staff, such as doctors, nurses, and researchers.
The lecture will cover a variety of topics related to ECT, including:
The mechanism of action of ECT
The clinical trials that have been conducted
The potential benefits and risks of ECT
The indications and contraindications for ECT
The side effects of ECT
The follow-up care for patients who have undergone ECT
