Orthodontic treatment usually requires space gainning, aiding in tooth alignment .Various methods to obtain this were used which includes extraction, mesio distal dimension reduction, distalization ,de rotation of posteriors, and up righting molars. Among these mesio distal enamel reduction is considered a common and successful treatment option of gaining space in mild cases

Poly-ether-ether-ketone (PEEK) is a biocompatible material with remarkable physical properties and chemical stability, which  increases its potential use in dentistry. It has already found some uses in orthodontics. This lecture will introduce the present and theoretical applications of PEEK in orthodontics.
