Central giant cell granuloma and peripheral giant cell granuloma are pathological conditions of the jaws with identical histopathological characteristics but distinct clinical behaviors. The peripheral giant cell lesion is a reactive lesion related to a local irritant that displays a low recurrence rate after treatment.
