This workshop aims to review the current status of closed water conveyance systems in Iraq and their role in improving water-use efficiency and reducing water losses caused by seepage and evaporation. It will discuss the technical, economic, and operational challenges associated with the implementation of these systems, as well as future opportunities for their wider adoption in irrigation and water distribution projects. The workshop will also highlight the contribution of closed water conveyance systems to sustainable water resources management and enhanced water security under increasing water scarcity and climate change challenges
