ضمن الأسبوع العراقي لمكافحة المخدرات أقامت وحدة الإرشاد النفسي ندوه حوا خطر آفة المخدرات إذ يتناول البعد القانوني لتعاطي المخدرات الإطار التشريعي الذي يحدد تجريم حيازة المواد المخدرة واستهلاكها وطرق التعامل مع المتعاطين. يركز القانون عادةً على فرض عقوبات رادعة للحد من انتشار التعاطي، مقابل توفير مسارات علاج وإعادة تأهيل للمتعاطين. كما ينظم إجراءات الضبط والتحقيق ويحدد مسؤوليات الجهات الأمنية والقضائية. ويهدف هذا البعد إلى حماية المجتمع من الآثار السلبية للمخدرات مع تحقيق توازن بين العقاب والوقاية
As part of Iraq's Anti-Drug Week, the Psychological Counseling Unit held a seminar on the dangers of drug abuse. The seminar addressed the legal dimension of drug use, including the legislative framework that criminalizes the possession and consumption of narcotics and how to deal with users. The law typically focuses on imposing deterrent penalties to curb the spread of drug use, while also providing treatment and rehabilitation pathways for users. It also regulates enforcement and investigation procedures and defines the responsibilities of security and judicial authorities. This legal framework aims to protect society from the negative effects of drugs while achieving a balance between punishment and prevention.
