سعت الرسالة الى معرفة مستوى اهتمام الصحافة العراقية بموضوعات مجزرة سبايكر، وتشخيص الأطر المرجعية وتحديد نوعية الشخصيات المحورية في التغطية، فضلا عن معرفة أشكال الفنون الصحفية التي وظفتها وتحديد نوعية المصادر التي اعتمدت عليها.

The thesis sought to understand the level of interest of the Iraqi press in the Speicher massacre, identify the frame of reference, and determine the types of pivotal figures in the coverage. It also sought to identify the journalistic forms employed and the types of sources relied upon.
