الفجوة البحثية على أنها موضوع أو قضية علمية لم يتم البحث فيها سابقاًتعتبر الفجوة البحثية جزء من عملية البحث والاستكشاف التي تساهم في إيضاح القضايا الغامضة ضمن الاختصاصات العلمية المتنوعة، ويعتمد الباحث على مجموعة النتائج والحقائق المتوفرة حول موضوع البحث وينطلق منها لاستكشاف الفجوة البحثية والنتائج المكتشفة عنها، ويقوم بمقارنة هذه النتائج مع بعضها البعض والخروج بوجهة نظر جديدة حول فجوة البحث العلمي،
A research gap is a scientific topic or issue that has not been previously researched. The researcher relies on a set of available results and facts about the research topic and starts from them to explore the research gap and the results discovered about it.
