شاركت وحدة شؤون المرأة في كليةالعلوم للبنات في مهرجان الطهو الذي نظمته شعبة شؤون المرأة على حدائق كلية الآداب وشاركت في المهرجان مسؤول وحدة شؤون المرأة أ.م.د شيماء صالح مهدي، م.د أسراء مؤيد عبد الله، م.م ميرفت داوود مجيد وعدد من تدريسيات الكلية.

هدف المهرجان إلى تعزيز ثقافة الطهو وتطوير مهارات النساء في هذا المجال، فضلاً عن دعم المشاريع الصغيرة في إطار تمكين المرأة اقتصادياً كما تم استعراض أهم المهارات المتعلقة بفنون الطهو وتشجيع المشاريع المنزلية، وذلك في إطار تحقيق التنمية المستدامة والهدف الثاني المتعلق بالقضاء على الجوع.

The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Science for Women participated in the cooking festival organized by the Women’s Affairs Division in the gardens of the College of Arts. The head of the Women’s Affairs Unit, Assistant Professor Dr. Shaima Saleh Mahdi, Assistant Professor Dr. Israa Mu’ayyad Abdullah, Assistant Professor Mervat Dawood Majeed and a number of the college’s lecturers participated in the festival.
The festival aimed to promote the culture of cooking and develop women’s skills in this field, in addition to supporting small projects within the framework of women’s economic empowerment. The most important skills related to the arts of cooking and encouraging home projects were also reviewed, within the framework of achieving sustainable development and the second goal related to eliminating hunger
