يعتبر الامن البيئي قضية ذات اهمية متزايدة في العراق حيث يمكن أن تحدث تأثيرات كبيرة على الامن القومي لما تواجهه البيئة العراقية من تحديات عديدة تترواح من تلوث الهواء والماء وازالة الغابات وتاكل التربة والتصحر وهذه القضايا البيئية اذا تركت بدون حلول أو معالجات سيكون لها عواقب وخيمة على صحة الشعب العراقي وقطاع الصناعة والزراعة والاقتصاد ككل
Environmental security is an issue of increasing importance in Iraq, as it can have significant impacts on national security due to the many challenges facing the Iraqi environment, ranging from air and water pollution, deforestation, soil erosion, and desertification. These environmental issues, if left unaddressed or untreated, will have dire consequences for the health of the Iraqi people, the industrial and agricultural sectors, and the economy as a whole.
