Periodontal diseases, a collection of chronic disorders, have a significant impact on individuals and society as a whole. Fractalkine CX3CL1 and its receptor CX3CR1with Interleukin-6 and Matrix metalloproteinase-9 have shown a connection to periodontitis that encouraged using them as candidate biomarkers in this study to distinguish between those with periodontal health and those with periodontitis (stage one, two, Three).
