Description

Titanium alloys have always satisfied both research and
commercial fields. Drawbacks of these alloys are well documented which
include high modulus of elasticity, observed corrosion and content of
elemental components that are hazardous if leached into the body fluids
and around implants. Titanium alloy (Ti13Nb13Zr) that promises to deliver
superior qualities to the alloys already in use, especially covering the
aforementioned shortages. Furthermore, the application of laser to achieve
surface adjustment that boosts surface characters that have long accepted to
be of profound effect on the dental implant service in general. The aim of
this study is to evaluation of commercially pure Titanium and Ti13Nb13Zr
with and without Laser surface zigzag lines structuring using computerized
CNC laser machine by measuring the new bone formation area and the
removal torque value after (2 and 6) weeks of implantation.
