Besides the stomach, the oral cavity is the second reservoir of Helicobacter pylori which plays an important role in oral diseases and recurrent gastric infections. It is can be maintained in oral cavity through colonization in dental plaque, saliva, and the mucus membrane of cheeks and tongue.
