Enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols are designed to minimize the stress response created by surgery and to improve patient recovery after surgery [1]. Avoiding opioid use with a multimodal pain management is an essential component of most ERAS pathways. A standardized multimodal analgesia (MMA) protocol with nonopioid agents or techniques could decrease opioid-related adverse effects such as nausea and vomiting, thus improve functional recovery after surgery
