Oral lichen planus is a common oral mucosal disease with various clinical manifestations. The most common types are reticular and erosive. Despite the substantial research on oral lichen planus etiopathogenesis, its mechanism remains unknown and must be speculative. However, a T-cell-mediated response inducing oral epithelial cell apoptosis may cause the disorder.
